 Fruit fly biologist S.E. Mohr's book *[First in Fly: Drosophila Research and Biological Discovery](http://www.hup.harvard.edu/catalog.php?isbn=9780674971011)* was [named one of the Ten Best Science Books of 2018 by Smithsonian.com](https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/ten-best-science-books-2018-180970954/). As stated by Smithsonian, "Harvard lecturer on genetics Stephanie Elizabeth Mohr chronicles how the fruit fly has been a cornerstone of scientific research for over a century. From cancer and diabetes studies, to analyses of human genome data, the fruit fly is an invaluable organism in laboratories around the world."
