Dan Lindsley, co-author of "red book," a much-used fly research resource, has died

The fly community has lost Dan Lindsley. Lindsley was a Drosophila researcher and co-author with Georgianna Zimm of the "red book," The Genome of Drosophila melanogaster. Lindsley was in his 90s. Lindsley trained at CalTech with Alfred Sturtevant and retired in 1991 from the University of California San Diego. You can read more about Lindsley's career here.
