Drosophila biologists newly elected to National Academy of Sciences
Drosophila biologists were among those newly elected in 2019 to the National Academy of Sciences, as announced by the academy on April 30, 2019. The researchers include Harmit Malik, who is an investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and full member in the Division of Basic Sciences at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, and Mariana Wolfner, who is the Goldwin Smith Professor of Molecular Biology and Genetics in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y.
