#  Drosophila researcher Irene Miguel-Aliaga elected EMBO member

 As [reported by Imperial College London](http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/newsandeventspggrp/imperialcollege/medicine/newssummary/news_19-6-2017-10-18-12) and [EMBO website](http://www.embo.org/news/press-releases/2017/embo-welcomes-65-new-members), Drosophila researcher Irene Miguel-Aliaga has been elected a member of the [European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO)](http://www.embo.org/). Research in the Miguel-Aliaga group is focused on the fly gut.
