#  Fly brain meets machine learning

A recent [article appearing in *Science Daily*](https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/10/181025142010.htm) describes a collaboration between Drosophila neuroscientists and computer scientists that takes a look at what clarity might be achieved given what is known about the neuronal circuitry of sight in the fly. The article is based on an original research article, "Can Drosophila melanogaster tell who's who?" by Schneider et al. that was [published in 2018 in the journal *PLoS One*](https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0205043).
