From fruit fly study to clinical trials: potential lung cancer treatment advances to clinical trials

Paul Taylor (University of Leeds) announced on Twitter on Oct. 5, 2018 that a drug identified "thanks to fruit flies" is now in clinical trials as a potential treatment for lung cancer. A Drosophila chemical genomics research study in which the compound was identified was published in 2017 in Cancer Letters and can be viewed here.
