#  HHMI Janelia Research Campus announces AI-driven "virtual fly"

On March, 15, 2024, the Howard Hughes Medical Institutes [Janelia Research Campus](https://www.janelia.org/) posted a news blurb titled ["Artificial Intelligence brings a virtual fly to life"](https://www.janelia.org/news/artificial-intelligence-brings-a-virtual-fly-to-life) that describes work by scientists at Janelia and Google DeepMind that "combines a new anatomically accurate model of the fly’s outer skeleton, a fast physics simulator, and an artificial neural network trained on fly behaviors to mimic the actions of a real fly."
