# Overview of the fly 'research ecosystem' published

July 10, 2017

 D. Bilder and K.D. Irvine have published an overview of the Drosophila research communityin the journal *Genetics* . They describe the fly community as "a vigorous and vibrant community with a tradition of pioneering and sharing resources and tools" and building on a "wealth of information." A great read for those interested to learn what the community is doing to support fly research and model organism research more generally, and perhaps start thinking about how you might be able to contribute to those efforts.
