As featured in *Asian Scientist*, Fly biologist Sherry Shiying Aw of the A*Star Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology in Singapore has been awarded a [L'Oreal Women in Science National Fellowship](https://www.asianscientist.com/2017/11/topnews/loreal-singapore-2017-sherry-aw-dawn-tan/) for her independent research using Drosophila to study neurodegenerative diseases.
